Back to News The Lead Finals Events of the 2023 Youth National Championships concluded last night at the USA Climbing National Training Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kicking off at The Front Climbing Club in Downtown Salt Lake City earlier this week, 440 registered competitors vied for their position in the Qualifying and Semi-Finals rounds. Ultimately, only 80 competitors across the four youth categories moved on to compete in Finals on Wednesday and Thursday night. This Finals event was the first of it’s kind to be held at the US National Training Center and only the second competition to be held on USA Climbing’s stand-alone lead wall. The 52ft tall lead wall, manufactured by EP Climbing, was built for use in the 2021 World Games held in Birmingham, Alabama, and has since found a new home in Salt Lake City as the training site for the US National Team. If you missed any of the Youth Nationals Lead and Top Rope action, you can catch a full replay of the livestream coverage on the USA Climbing YouTube channel HERE.
