USA Climbing Coordinator

Volunteer Regional, Divisional, and National Coordinators partner with USA Climbing Staff in organizing, managing, and delivering support for all Qualification, Regional, and Divisional competitions.

About USA Climbing Coordinators

Volunteer Regional, Divisional, and National Coordinators play a critical role for USA Climbing. Coordinators are recognized as high-profile, public-facing representatives of the organization in which the values, goals, and mission of USA Climbing are exemplified via interactions with facilities, competitors, membership, routesetters, and coaches.

Qualifying Event
Coordinators are expected to plan and attend qualifying events which are day-long competitions scheduled between mid-October and mid-April; typically held on Saturdays. Some events may require out-of-town travel with an overnight stay. There are approximately 16 total qualifying events per year, but each RC is only expected to attend a few per year.

Championship Event
Coordinators are expected to plan and attend the two annual Regional championships (typically a one-day event). In addition, there are two weekend-long Divisional championships (one in February, one in June) that RCs are strongly encouraged but not required to attend, especially when they fall outside the RC’s home Region.
