Hunt and Hammer Finish 1st in Speed at North American Cup Series

The 2024 North American Cup Series (NACS) concluded with the speed discipline on Sunday. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, with storm clouds making way for sunshine and blue skies as climbers scaled the outdoor speed wall at USA Climbing’s National Training Center.

Though there were many close calls, Emma Hunt and Zach Hammer ultimately raced to gold. Earlier in the day, during the qualification round, Hunt also set a new Women’s Speed American Record of 6.30 seconds. It’s the third time Hunt has lowered the record this year, following her record-breaking runs at the USA Climbing National Team Trials in March and the World Cup Wujiang 2024 in April.
