Back to News USA Climbing is excited to announce the formation of its new Youth Series Task Force. The task force will make recommendations on all aspects of the Youth Series to improve inclusiveness, athlete well-being, growth, ease of hosting, and international competitive success. The scope of the task force’s recommendations includes the youth development pipeline, recreational series, competition season, competition formats, and International Federation rules alignment. The task force will work through approximately May of 2025, with most recommendations intended to take effect for the 2025-26 season; however, to align with the new IFSC categories, the first order of business for the task force will be to review age categories for the 2025 Youth Series for changes to be implemented in the 2024-2025 season. The following fifteen (15) members have been selected to serve on the Youth Series Task Force including athletes, parents, coaches, routesetters, regional/divisional/national coordinators, and Rules Committee representation.
