USA Climbing is offering two scholarship opportunities to our Collegiate Members:
Both the Collegiate Climbing Ambassador Scholarship and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Scholarship are an opportunity for competitors to demonstrate how they have become an ambassador for the sport of climbing and how they make climbing a more inclusive space.
The winners were selected from an exceptional candidate pool who submitted resumes, essay and participated in a Zoom interview with the selection committee. Congratulations to all of our winners! We are honored to have you as part of our collegiate climbing community.
“I am so honored and excited to receive this scholarship. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in my climbing and my collegiate career. As a former youth climber and competitor, climbing has always been my go to activity to escape from academic stress and have fun with friends. Through my years of climbing I discovered a beautiful and supportive community that I am immensely proud to be a part of. I applied to Tufts largely because of the strong and passionate Tufts Climbing Team where I had the pleasure of serving as the competition team chair for a year. Giving back to the climbing community that has always been there for me became a large focus early in college as I began volunteering for competition belaying and joined the world of para-climbing. Whether bringing new climbers to the gym, cheering for my fellow collegiate competitors, or volunteering to belay at para competitions, I strive to expand and enrich the sport in every way possible. Thank you to all of my coaches, teammates, family, friends, and the USAC staff that make it possible for me to give back to the climbing community.”
“Climbing has been such a transformational force in my collegiate journey; I am extremely honored to be recognized as an ambassador for a sport and a community that has changed my world in so many positive ways. I went from not touching a wall at all my freshman year to standing at the top of the intermediate bouldering national podium as a sophomore, a journey that led me to move across the country to begin this school year after transferring colleges in search of a true climbing community. I am now the strongest and happiest I have ever been, and I have this sport—and the remarkable people it attracts—to thank. I cannot wait to continue fostering and giving back to the vibrant climbing community in the Springs as a captain next school year: getting even more people on the wall at competitions and spending time outside together on incredible rock. I am so grateful to my teammates and friends at Colorado College, my parents and mentors, and to USA Climbing for opportunities like this scholarship that make a life of adventure possible.”
“I am incredibly honored to receive the 2026 Collegiate DEI Scholarship. This award represents not only my own journey, but also the collaborative effort to make collegiate climbing a space where everyone feels supported, valued, and inspired to grow both as climbers and individuals. As a board member of the CU Climbing Team, I am grateful for the opportunity to build a community that brings together students from different backgrounds and experiences through a shared love of climbing. I hope to continue helping make the sport I love more accessible and inclusive for others. I also want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout the past four years of my collegiate climbing journey. Sko Buffs!”
“I’ve seen how the climbing community actively creates space for people of all backgrounds by encouraging beginners, celebrating progress at every level, and fostering a culture where everyone’s presence is valued. Personally, I’ve experienced this through supportive partners and peers who prioritize respect, representation, and belonging, making it easier to show up as my authentic self both on and off the wall. I strive to foster that inclusive environment in the climbing communities in which I am fortunate enough to be a member and play a part in contributing to our welcoming culture.”
