Wrapping up three World Cup events in SLC!

Last week USA Climbing had the honor of welcoming the world’s best competition climbers to Salt Lake City for three IFSC World Cup Events!

Speed & Bouldering, May 20-22
Paraclimbing, May 24-25
Speed & Bouldering, May 27-29

Despite some less than ideal weather forecasts, spectators and athletes from around the globe assembled for the events with more than 30 countries represented.

As for the home team, Team USA once again found success as Natalia Grossman landed herself in the top spot during the two women’s bouldering events, Brooke Raboutou captured the silver and bronze, and male bouldering competitor, Ross Fulkerson advanced to finals for the first time in his World Cup Bouldering career.

Noah Bratschi and Emma Hunt were able to chase down silver medals Between the two weekends of Speed competitions. Hunt was also able to take down the U.S. Women’s Speed Record (which she broke twice during the second weekend’s event).

The US Paraclimbing athletes also found success, capturing TEN medal positions during the Para World Cup events that took place mid-week at The Front Climbing Club in Downtown Salt Lake. Seventeen Paraclimbing athletes will now look to take that momentum along with them as they head to compete at the next Paraclimbing World Cup event in Innsbruck, AUT in June.
