Back to News USA Climbing, the National Governing Body for the sport of climbing, is thrilled to announce the addition of David Landman to its Board of Directors. Landman is a seasoned corporate executive and investment banker with over 35 years of experience in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, financial services and operations. He currently serves as a Board Director and Chairman of the Compensation Committee at Inotiv, a NASDAQ-listed life sciences company based in Lafayette, Indiana. He is also a former Partner and current Senior Adviser at Perella Weinberg Partners, a global independent investment bank with head offices in New York. In connection to USA Climbing, Landman currently serves on the Audit & Compensation Committee and previously served on the Judicial Committee. An active sport and trad climber since 1993, his climbing accomplishments include climbing the Seven Summits (the highest mountain on each of the Seven continents, including Mount Everest and Denali), climbing El Capitan three times, and completing the Grand Traverse (the entire skyline of Jackson Hole, WY in a three-day push). Landman’s love for climbing is shared by his two sons, who competed in the UK and internationally from 1999-2018. “As a passionate climber and alpinist, I am thrilled to join the USA Climbing Board of Directors,” said Landman. “My two sons progressed steadily from the most junior competitive ranks to the elite World Cup level. I have seen competition climbing soar over the past 25 years. USA Climbing is in a pivotal period, and I am honored to contribute to the fantastic foundation the entire USA Climbing team has built.” “I am excited to welcome David Landman to the Board,” said Marc Norman, President and CEO of USA Climbing. “David’s deep experience and dynamic leadership, on top of his passion for climbing, will be a tremendous asset as we continue to advance the sport.” Landman recently earned an Executive Education Certificate from Harvard Business School in Preparing to be a Corporate Director and is continuing advanced work in Board Effectiveness, as well as Audit and Compensation Committee governance. He earned a four-year J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Law and Booth School of Business (1982) and a B.A. in Economics from Wesleyan University (High Honors, 1978). He has FINRA licenses Series 7 and 24 and is an SEC-qualified financial expert with compensation committee expertise. He is also admitted to the Bar in both New York and Connecticut.
