Important New Congress Bill Could Help Climbing Gyms

A recently announced congressional bill could establish a $30 billion fund to help businesses—including climbing gyms—that are still reeling from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Known as the GYMS Act, this bill would require the Small Business Administration to establish a grant program that could ultimately lead to financial aid for climbing gym owners and operators.

As part of a joint effort to spread the word about the bill, The Access Fund, the Climbing Wall Association, USA Climbing, and many climbing gyms around the country are currently encouraging climbers to use the hashtag #GYMSACT and write to Congress requesting action on the GYMS Act. More information, as well as a quick submission form to send to Congress, can be found on The Access Fund’s page about the bill.
