"Time at the World Youth Championships as an intern helped kick start one of the best youth seasons of my coaching career. Being immersed in the international stage provided constant stimulation and insight by observing and interacting not only with the highest level within our own Federation, but also those from all over the world. I felt pushed and nurtured by USAC's senior staff that contributed to a new level of confidence in my coaching skills. My advice for any future intern - be up for any task and leave no question unasked; you’ll be sure to leave a better coach."

"What I took away from my participation at youth world championships far exceeded any expectations I had going in. The two-week trip was fast paced, hard work and truly rewarding. I believe it is because of the inherent intensity that I came away feeling more rooted in my philosophy and direction as a coach, manager, and leader. I quickly learned that my role was to lubricate the already well constructed cogs of the machine, ensuring as seamless an experience for the athletes as possible. I learned that every role, regardless of how big, small, or outwardly glorious, is integral to the success of the team.
Despite a work-filled summer, I returned to my team more psyched than ever! I implemented coaching methods, competition tactics, and delegation techniques I'd seen work so well at Worlds -- my whole program thrived! If you are considering applying for an intern position, I am here to encourage you to do so with an open mind and heart full of stoke. Good luck!"
